Splish Splash
Splash pads across the City are open and ready for splashing — a great way to stay cool this summer. Additionally, there are several public pools in Boston where you can take a swim. Many are offering swim lessons and aquatic programs. Visit boston.gov/splash for an interactive map of locations, accessibility information, and live spray play status – updated hourly.
Scobie’s now at City Hall!
Mayor Michelle Wu today joined the City of Boston’s Property Management Department, Scobie’s Café & Bar owner Anne Lydon, and community members to cut the ribbon on Scobie’s newest location at City Hall. Selected through a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP), Scobie’s was chosen for its advantageous business model and alignment with the City’s goals to support local businesses and expand economic opportunity. Scobie’s is a family-run small business led by co-owners Anne and John Lydon that opened its first location in Dorchester’s Adams Village in September 2024. Get all the details here.
Big Sing Event in the Neighborhood
The Boston Children’s Chorus (BCC) is hosting its largest Big Sing event ever since its inception in 2023. Approximately 700 young singers from 10 schools across Boston neighborhoods, including Dorchester, East Boston, Mattapan, Roxbury, and South Boston, will come together for a vibrant performance. These students, ranging from grades 2 through 6, will join special guest artist Tamar Greene, who is currently starring in the Broadway company of Hamilton, for a celebration of music and culture.
