BFCU Celebrates National Police Canine Appreciation Day
Mark your calendars, dog lovers! On Thursday, August 28th from 11am–1pm, head to BFCU 60 Hallet Street in Dorchester for a special event honoring the hard work and dedication of police canines. Bring your pups along for the fun—there’ll be human and dog-friendly treats from Ellie’s Ice Cream Truck, plus a pet food donation drive to support the Boston Animal Shelter Pet Food Pantry. Kids (and let’s be real, plenty of adults too) will be excited to meet Chase from Paw Patrol, along with a few more surprises in store. It’s a family-friendly way to show appreciation for our K-9 partners while giving back to pets in need.
Baby, you’re a firework
Boston’s end-of-summer tradition is back. On Thursday, August 28, the skies over Boston Harbor will once again sparkle with the return of the Illuminate the Harbor fireworks display. Presented by Boston Harbor Now in partnership with Meet Boston, this annual celebration marks the start of Labor Day Weekend and offers locals and visitors alike one last chance to soak in the magic of summer on the waterfront. The 12th annual Illuminate the Harbor kicks off Labor Day Weekend with a free fireworks display over Boston Harbor and festive waterfront programming, including live music. This summer, Illuminate the Harbor commemorates the Anniversary of the 250th American Revolution with fireworks celebrating the critical role Boston Harbor played during the historic early resistance.
