Reminder: Street Cleaning is Back!

It’s that time of year again! Birds are chirping. It’s staying light out later and the big yellow street sweeper will be cleaning your neighborhood streets on April 1st.  So be warned, parking restrictions associated with street cleaning begins this week.  A schedule and information is available here!  Dot residents can also register for “No Tow,” a service provided by the city for residents to be reminded by email when their street is scheduled for cleaning. That’s so helpful!

Composting Bin at Hero Hope Garden

Have you seen the the colorful bin at Hero Hope Garden, 424 Geneva Ave? This bing offers residents a place to drop off food scraps for composting. The city of Boston’s Project Oscar Community Composting has nine locations throughout the city. Make sure to check out the list of items accepted and not accepted here!  Food waste has the potential to create a rich, black soil that helps plants grow. Composting food waste reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills. It also helps the environment by enriching soil, giving new plants nutrients to grow.

Easter Egg Hunt at Savin Hill Park

Enjoy a little kids Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 9th at 2pm at Savin Hill Park! Line up in the basketball court at 1:45pm – hunt starts at 2pm. We hear the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance too!
