BFD responded to a call for fire showing at 20 Irma Street in Dorchester on Monday afternoon. The fire quickly spread to 16 and 24 Irma Street. A fourth alarm was called. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire. BFD companies are still on scene overhauling and putting out hot spots.
Two birds were rescued from 16 Irma Street by firefighters.
30 residents have been displaced and the Red Cross is helping them find housing. Three firefighters were injured and taken to a local hospital.
