3-Alarm Fire in Dorchester on Sunday Afternoon

BFD responded to a call for a fire at approximately 3:30pm on Sunday, January 25th, at 26 Wentworth Street in Dorchester. This three-family home was occupied, and heavy fire was showing from the third floor. A second, then a third alarm was ordered.
The winter storm with snow and winds created hazardous conditions for the firefighters, but they eventually knocked down the fire.
There are no injuries to report. Three adults, four children, and one dog were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross is helping with housing. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
