At about 3:39 AM, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) and District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested a 14-year-old juvenile male on breaking and entering charges.
Officers responded to the area of 449 Washington Street for a report of a breaking and entering. Officers observed through video surveillance that a male suspect was breaking into the front doors of the business. Officers arrived on scene and observed the front right door to be smashed and the cash registers opened. Officers searched the area for the suspect to no avail.
After further investigation, officers observed the suspect through video surveillance operating a city blue bike fleeing the area. Officers were able to track the suspect, and observed him in the area of 164 Westview Street.
With the assistance of District B-3 officers, officers knocked and announced their presence. Officers observed an individual matching the description of the suspect, and placed him into handcuffs. The apartment was then frozen pending a search warrant.
The 14-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and charged with: Breaking and Entering, and Attempted Breaking and Entering. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
