UPDATE:
22-year-old Walter Hendrick of Mattapan, brother of the shooting victim, appeared in Dorchester District Court to face the following charges: improper storage of a firearm – someone under 18 has potential access, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Hendrick was released on $2500 bail and will return to court on September 6th.

According to BPD, a 12-year-old died of a gunshot wound in Mattapan on Thursday afternoon.
BPD responded to a call for a shooting at 35 Fessenden St. around 2 p.m., The shooting reportedly happened inside the home. This is an active investigation. BPD is asking for anyone for information to contact homicide detectives.
