NEW UPDATE VIA BPD NEWS:

At about 8:51 PM on Sunday, October 16, 2022, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 263 Geneva Avenue in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Quaaneiruh Goodwyn, 24, of Mattapan was found to be suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased on the scene. An adult male was transported to a local area hospital suffering from serious life-threatening injuries. A third male was found to be suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The Boston Police Department continues to actively review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.

BPD is reporting that three people were shot Sunday night on Bowdoin Street and Geneva Avenue around 8:50pm. A woman was pronounced dead on scene, and the two men, both in their mid 20s, were taken to local hospitals with gunshot wounds.

Boston Police held a press conference with Superintendent-in-Chief Greg Long. Mayor Michelle Wu and District Attorney Kevin Hayden were also on scene. A possible motive or suspect information was not released. No arrests have been made. The victims have not been identified.
