Well, that’s exactly what City Council President Andrea Campbell (Dorchester) wants to know. She’s calling for a public hearing to help figure out why residents – and especially those who live in Dorchester, Roxbury and Hyde Park – pay so much more for car insurance.
According to Campbell, the average premiums for experienced drivers in Roxbury is 204% of the statewide average, while Dorchester is at 188% and Hyde Park 153%. Yikes.
