Live Irish Music at Scobies
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the newest addition to Adams Village, this weekend is a great time to enjoy a few pints or a great meal at Scobies! The cafe and bar is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and will also feature live Irish music all weekend long with traditional performances taking place Friday from 6pm to 8pm, Saturday from 7pm to 10pm and Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.
Neighborhood Cookout
Friends from the Boston Food Forest Coalition invite you to a neighborhood garden party and open house cookout at the Hope Garden on Geneva Ave. in Dorchester this Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. Stop by and mingle with neighbors, enjoy some food and learn more about the amazing work that the stewards of Hope Garden have been doing as they prepare the garden for fall. Guests are welcome to contribute a dish to the potluck but it is not mandatory.
12th Annual Trung Thru Festival
Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival with the Networking Organization for Vietnamese Americans (NOVA) Boston this Saturday from 3pm to 8pm at Town Field Park in Dorchester. The 12th annual event in honor of Tết Trung Thu is an amazing free festival that will offer a wide selection of food vendors, free giveaways, activities, a night market and live entertainment from local performers!
Flea Market at The LOT
On the Dot® is hosting its first flea market at The LOT on September 28th from 12-5PM. A day filled with local shopping, delicious food, and great company! Vendors include Alice The Potter, Fanny’s Handmade Soaps, PIA, Michaelas Market, and more! As always, admission is FREE but be sure to RSVP here. First 100 customers arrived will receive a limited edition LOT tote bag! Food will also be provided from Northeast of the Border and Crepe Shop for when you need a snack or meal after shopping!
MAMAthon at Open Doors Yoga
Calling all mamas! Come together in community on Saturday, September 28th, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM Open Doors Yoga for a fundraising yoga class to support maternal health. This donation-based class is a chance to nurture your body and mind, support maternal health, and ensure that perinatal care is accessible to those most in need. Whether pregnant, postpartum, or passionate about helping mamas, this class is open to all. Restore, strengthen, and uplift our community – every mat and every donation makes a difference! Climate Justice Fair
Join in for a day of celebrating and learning about urban agriculture and climate work across Boston at this weekend’s Climate Justice Fair. The event takes place in Dorchester’s Nightingale Community Garden on Saturday from 11am to 3pm (rain date Sunday). Enjoy games, food from local urban farms, gardening, cooking demonstrations, live animals, tractors and much more. Don’t miss the harvest competition to check out impressive local harvests in categories like best honey and oddest shaped vegetable! This free event will feature fun and learning for all-ages. It is hosted by The Trustees and the City of Boston, in collaboration with many local area nonprofits and civic organizations.
Watercolor Painting in the Park
Practice your painting skills at this free and fun watercolor painting workshop series taking place this Sunday from 10am to noon at Ronan Park in Dorchester. This instructor-led outdoor event will enable artists of all skill levels to create their own inspired masterpiece! Space is limited and registration is required.
