Akili Jamal Haynes (Chibuzo Dunun) will share original artistic creations through music, African drums, poetry, film and a delicious meal. The event takes place Friday from 6pm to 9pm at the Black Indian Inn in Dorchester. Guests will enjoy an artistic, fully immersive World of Chibuzo experience as well as simply delicious and healthy food by Fulani’s Kitchen. Tickets start at $75 with a virtual livestream option available for $10.

Whiskey Dinner at Venezia

Walking Tour of Jamaica Pond

This Friday from 2pm to 3pm, join Urban Wilds staff and parks employees as they provide information on the historical, cultural and environmental features of the park and its environs. Revolutionary Snake Ensemble

The Revolutionary Snake Ensemble is a funk/street beat improvisational brass band that performs a unique blend of original and traditional music. Labeled “explosive” by The Boston Globe, they are making a stop in Dorchester this Saturday at 8 pm at Parish of All Saints. Admission is $20 per person at the door. This event is part of the Dot Jazz Series co-produced by Mandorla Music and Greater Ashmont Main Street.

Boston Bhangra Competition

The biggest and best Bhangra Competition in North America returns to Boston this Saturday starting at 6pm at the Strand Theater. Bhangra is a highly energetic folk dance from the Punjab region of India/Pakistan. Don’t miss out on the chance of hearing the feet-pulsing music and phenomenal atmosphere at this event. Tickets range from $25 to $100. Guests will see some of the best dance performances of the year with teams that come to Boston from the US, Canada and even abroad.
