Free Community Health Fair
This weekend head to the Daniel Driscoll-Neponset Health Center in Dorchester for Start Healthy Saturday, a free community health fair hosted by Harbor Health Services. The event is for all ages and takes place rain or shine on Saturday from 9am to 12pm. Guests can take advantage of free flu vaccines, blood pressure screenings, weight and height assessments and SNAP application assistance. There will also be free Thanksgiving grocery bags distributed as well as other giveaways and activities.
Twist & Shout Gala at The Strand
Prepare to be mesmerized by an evening of unparalleled talent and inspiration as OrigiNation Cultural Arts Center proudly presents its 30th-anniversary celebration, Twist & Shout! This evening of dance, spoken word and music is a benefit performance and awards gala that takes place this Saturday at the Strand Theater from 6:30 pm to 10 pm. The event promises an electrifying lineup of dance performances, soul-stirring spoken word pieces and captivating musical talent. Tickets start at $75.
Rum and Oyster Tasting

Documentary Film Screening
This Sunday, join Dominican-American, Boston-based filmmaker and screenwriter, Paloma Valenzuela, for a free screening of her documentary film, ‘The Seltzer Factory.’ The event takes place from 4 pm to 6pm at just Book-ish in Dorchester. The film delves into the story of Valenzuela’s maternal family in Marghita, Hungary. In the film she explores her Jewish identity as a bi-racial Latina Jewish-American as she pieces together the connecting events that shaped her family’s story.
