Dorchester Women’s History Tour

As Women’s History Month continues, the Dorchester Historical Society is offering a free virtual program that will showcase the key roles women have played in the neighborhood’s history. From authors and artists, doctors and lawyers, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, activists and more, attendees will learn more about the work of these trailblazing women. The event takes place on Zoom on Saturday afternoon at 3pm. Visit the registration page for login details.

Pop Up Art Show

Dorchester native George Freeman, aka GBfree of FromStreet2Canvas will display his newest collection of beautiful street stories at a pop up art show this weekend. Stop by The MUSE at 336 Blue Hill Ave. on Saturday from 3pm to 7pm to see “The Neighborhood,” which features some of the people and places that helped shape the culture of black and brown Boston. There will be complimentary vegan soul food and drinks along with live music and artwork for sale.

St. Patrick’s Day Kick-Off Party

Why try to fit all the fun into one weekend? Dorchester Brewing Company is helping kick-off the festivities early with an all-day St. Patrick’s Day party on Saturday starting at 11:30am. The event will feature special beer releases (and green beer, of course!), slushies, live music, food specials, and limited edition shirts and glassware. The first 25 guests get a free pint glass!

Lazos de Amor Fundraising Gala

Boston-based nonprofit group Lazos de Amor, which provides services for underprivileged children and families in need, is hosting its 19th annual fundraising gala this Saturday evening at 6pm at Venezia in Dorchester. The gala will bring together the community for a memorable evening featuring delicious food, live music and support for the organization’s mission to spread love and compassion.

The Wolfe Tones at The Strand

Irish rebel music band the Wolfe Tones are making a stop in Boston at Dorchester’s Strand Theater as part of their 60th anniversary and farewell tour. Ireland’s legendary balladeers are selling out shows across the globe, and tickets for Saturday night’s show are limited. Tickets start at $55 and doors open at 7:30pm.

R&B Vibes Party

The newly renovated Russell Auditorium will host a 25+ event Saturday evening for a night of R&B vibes with music by DJ Ron G and Jeff 2 Timez. Doors open at 9pm and tickets are $30.

Reiki Certification Class

Shine on Yoga and Wellness in Milton is hosting a level one foundational certification class this Sunday from 11am to 4pm. Roxbury Neighborhood Fitness Day

The Boston Athletic Association is hosting the next event in its neighborhood fitness series this Sunday at 2pm at the Reggie Lewis Center. This introduction to track and field day is open to children of all ages and abilities. Kids will learn about track events including long jump, high jump, shot put, javelin, and obstacle courses with races from 60m to 800m. Participants can also take a photo with the Boston Marathon Champions Trophy!

LGBTQ+ Singles Tea Dance

Join LesbianNightLife LGBTQ+ for an evening of mingling, dancing and fun in a pressure-free environment this Sunday from 4pm to 8pm at Ghost Pepper in Savin Hill. The event will feature games and icebreakers to help get the conversations going, with plenty of dancing to follow. Tickets are $20 and advance registration is required.
