Circus at the Beach
Kirkos Circus Up’s spectacular youth community troupe is coming to Dorchester this weekend. Founded in 2020, Kirkos performs bold and uplifting shows that address social issues while crafting collaborative circus acts that surprise, baffle and delight. This Friday, the group will host a Circus Up Beach Bash thanks to the Save the Harbor Better Beaches program from 5pm to 7pm at Malibu Beach. It is the group’s biggest friends and family event of the year and is sure to be a blast!
The USS Constitution Turnaround at Castle Island
The USS Constitution is set to sail past Castle Island this Friday, June 14th at 11:30am. Don’t miss out on the 21-gun salute! And after stop by Sullivan’s for a snap dog and welly fry! Plus the Castle Island Association will be holding a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Friday – bring your old flags in need of retiring from 11am-12pm at Fort Independence.
Port Norfolk Walking Tour
Join the Dorchester Historical Society this Saturday morning at 10am for a walking tour of Port Norfolk. The event will showcase the fascinating history of this lesser-known neighborhood during the 90 minute walking tour led by DHS President Earl Taylor. The tour will meet at the pavilion at Venezia Restaurant and is free and open to the public.
Juneteenth Celebration at JFK Library
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is hosting a free Juneteenth Celebration this Saturday morning featuring the multicultural Benkadi Drum and Dance group. The performance will include new dances showcasing traditional West African rhythms and movements with vivid costumes, interpretive dance and audience participation. The event is appropriate for family audiences and children ages 5 and up.
PRIDE Vendor Market
Come sip and shop at this special pop-up vendor market at Dorchester Brewing Company this Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. Stop by to visit the brewery, grab some drinks and support the LGBTQIA+ vendors in celebration of PRIDE month!
Father’s Day Scotch & Cigars
The Pearl in South Bay is hosting a special Father’s Day cigar and scotch tasting event this Sunday at 6pm. Tickets are $50 and include a tasting experience and a complimentary premium cigar, as well as access to the exclusive mobile cigar lounge. The event is 21+. Use code: DOT10 for a discount!
Pop-Up Bootcamp with Regan’s Motivated Fitness
Enjoy a fun workout with Thomas from Regan’s Motivated Fitness at Carson Beach this Saturday, June 15th! The class is from 7-7:45 am. The class is full body with yoga, strength training, running, and boxing! The class is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Check out their instagram for updates!
