Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl

Grab your gaudiest holiday gear and join in for a merry celebration with plenty of festive drinks, music, and fun. This bar crawl will explore Boston’s Faneuil Hall and downtown area on Saturday from 3pm to 10pm. General admission tickets are $25, but if your birthday is in November or December you can snag a free wristband on Instagram!

Halfway to Dot Day 5k

If the cold weather has got you down, remember that Dot Day is just around the corner. Join the Dorchester Running Club in counting down with a celebratory 5k race this Saturday at 9am at The Neponset Trail in Dorchester. Registration for adults and teenagers age 12+ is $25 and proceeds benefit Dorchester youth scholarships.

Local Hand Open House

The Local Hand is celebrating its first holiday season in business with a special open house featuring festive hot beverages, holiday cookies from Top Shelf Cookies, kid-friendly crafts and special discounts. Stop in on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm and support local artists and businesses.

Ezekiel’s Wheels Concert

Celebrate Hanukkah in the community with a special performance from internationally recognized klezmer ensemble Ezekiel’s Wheels. The group will bring their passion and energy to the stage at the Adams Street Branch of the Boston Public Library in Dorchester on Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 3pm.

A Very Mariah Christmas

Head over to Laugh Boston for a DRAGtacular brunch celebrating the iconic Mariah Carey and her dazzling Christmas spirit. Grab your gals and enjoy mesmerizing lip-syncs and dance moves that are sure to have you singing along this Saturday at 12pm. 

Langston Hughs’ Black Nativity 

Don’t miss the celebration of the traditional Christmas story as told in the New Testament. The National Center of Afro-American Artists’ Black Nativity features energetic gospel music, dance and drums. Multiple shows are offered on weekends through Dec. 17 at the Emerson Paramount Center.

Little Saigon Gala

Enjoy an evening benefiting a great cause this Saturday from 6pm to 11pm at Little Saigon in Fields Corner. This fundraising event will feature amazing food, programming, awards and more in recognition of the individuals and organizations making an impact in New England’s first Vietnamese cultural district. Proceeds help to support local businesses as well as community events and art installations.

2nd Annual Cisco Stroll

The Cisco Stroll will take place on Saturday, December 9th from 12-4pm in Southie.  There will be exclusive scarf giveaways, a holiday costume contest, a window decorating contest, and Cisco brews. For every pint of Cisco sold, $1 will be donated to the South Boston Neighborhood House. The participating bars are Loco, Lincoln, Layla’s, Publico, Fresh, Roza Lyons, Hunters, and The Broadway. Stop by your favorite bar for a Cisco and a good time.

Gifted Holiday Market

The Fairmont Copley Plaza Ballroom will be transformed for a special one-day juried holiday market on Sunday from 11am to 6pm. The event will bring together more than 70 independent artists, designers and creators from across New England selling their handcrafted holiday goods. Tickets are $10.

Bonus: don’t miss other holiday markets and shopping events at Boston Harbor Distillery, IBEW Local 103, Snowport and SoWa throughout the weekend.
