Free Arts + Crafts in the Neighborhood

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program is pleased to announce the return of free Arts & Crafts Workshops for children. From West Roxbury to East Boston, kids ages three to ten can enjoy a wide variety of arts and crafts activities led by local artists at the workshops held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.  Fridays, August 1, 8, & 15 at Doherty-Gibson Playground, Dorchester. Ice Cream Social Family Day Rodeo

The 3rd Annual Ice Cream Social Family Day Rodeo is taking place on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Reverend Loesch Wainwright Park, 20 Wainwright Street, Dorchester, MA. This family-friendly festival promises an afternoon filled with joy, featuring: A variety of local food trucks and vendors – Live performances and entertainment – Interactive games and activities for all ages – Community resources and engagement opportunities – And, of course, plenty of ice cream to go around!

Ashmont Friday Market

Greater Ashmont Main Street founded the Ashmont Friday Market (originally the Ashmont Farmers Market) in 2008. Since then, the Market has become a beloved Dorchester institution, Open each Friday in Peabody Square from 2 pm to 6 pm.  Enjoy live music, fresh produce, prepared foods, activities for all ages!  This fun neighborhood event takes place at the Ashmont MBTA Plaza.  You can learn more here. 

Bringing farm produce to the neighborhood!

The Codman Square Farmers Market is back!  Featuring fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs, and more, the Codman Square Farmers Market is a weekly event at Loesch Family Park on Saturdays from 11am-2pm.  In addition to produce, there are other vendors like Cles Cuddly Creations, Bling + Beauty, and Lisa Graustein Ceramics.  Plus, there will be live music, family fun, kids activities, and more! Feasts Season in the North End
