Fisherman’s Feast

Boston’s oldest continuous Italian festival returns to the North End bringing another weekend packed full of traditional food, music and fun. From cooking demonstrations and a competition for Boston’s best meatball to a Carnivale show and the famous Flight of the Angel, this event is not to be missed.

2023 Community Picnic

The Columbia-Savin Hill Civic Association is hosting a Community Picnic on Saturday from noon-5pm at DCR’s Pattens Cove.  Enjoy food, live music, games, kayaks and raffles.  Bring your own blanket or chair.

Black Market Fair

Get ready for the back-to-school season at this 3rd annual community event featuring black-owned small businesses, vendors and resources at Garvey Park on Saturday from 12pm to 4pm.

Sunday Morning Pop-Up Yoga

The Local Hands is hosting a special pop-up yoga class on Sunday morning from 9am-10am with Ayla Gavins. This 60-minute class is a slow-flow vinyasa suitable for all levels.  You can register here. 

In Between Days Music Fest

Head down to Quincy this Saturday and Sunday for this indie rock festival featuring headliners Modest Mouse and Lord Huron. The weekend also includes a vintage and handmade marketplace, retro arcade games, food, drinks and more. 

African Festival of Boston

This free event celebrates the best of African arts, culture and heritage and is one of the largest African festivals in New England. The 13th annual event returns to the Boston Common Park from 9am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Whiskey Tour and Tasting

Take a VIP tour of Boston Harbor Distillery to learn about its history and how whiskey is made. Of course, you’ll get to try some exclusive spirits along the way. Two tour times are available on Saturday: 3:30pm or 5pm. Stay and enjoy a Saturday evening comedy show featuring Dan Smith, winner of the Funniest Comic in Boston contest.

JP Porchfest

Our neighbors in Jamaica Plain invite the community to join in for a day full of music, storytelling, dance and other performances that take place on porches and in green spaces throughout the neighborhood. The fun gets underway Saturday at 12pm. Check out the full schedule here.

Take a Hike

Connecting 17 Boston neighborhoods from the Neponset River Reservation to Bunker Hill Monument, the Walking City Trail is a 27-mile  hiking path through some of Boston’s most scenically immersive parks, urban wilds, gardens, and residential neighborhoods. The trail starts in Mattapan and ends at Bunker Hill.  You can get the full details, including maps, here.
