The Boston Marathon starts in Hopkinton, then winds through suburbs like Wellesley and Newton before finally getting to Boston for the finish line at Copley. But not this marathon.  26.TRUE is a marathon alternative that starts and ends at Malcolm X Park in Roxbury, created and managed by the Pioneers Run Crew.  This marathon is a tour of Boston – the real Boston – that highlights neighborhoods throughout the city and celebrates communities that are often overlooked during the Boston Marathon weekend. “We come together in defiance of history’s divisions to embrace old spaces in new ways and to run a marathon that is more than just a race.”  The 26.2 TRUE kicks off Saturday at 7am! On Friday, April 17th, Landmark Public House is hosting another Country Friday with the best and hottest country playlists by Boston’s top DJS! There will be country-themed food specials and plenty of cold drinks! Grab your friends, practice your two-step, and get ready for a new Friday night tradition in Dorchester!

Opening Weekend at Park City

Park City is back!!! This weekend, they will be back open for business! Their hours are Friday, 2pm to close, Saturday and Sunday, 11 am to close, and Monday, 12pm to close. They have live music all weekend long. Check out their Instagram to see the awesome lineup!

The Local Hand Water Color Workshop

The Local Hand’s  next watercolor collage workshop is this Saturday! “What I love about this process is you really don’t need to have any painting skills at all. We mess around with watercolors at the beginning, but we mostly focus on shapes, color, and pattern,” says Michaela Flatley, owner of the Local Hand.  This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a low-stress, joyful way to make art.
