Performances at The Strand
The Strand Theatre will host two productions of The Many Faces OF The Strong Black Woman this weekend. Created by The Crew Productions, the play brings to life the issues black women face while navigating family, careers, romance and mental health. Performances will be held Friday and Saturday evenings at 6pm with tickets starting at $21. Admission includes complimentary refreshments and snacks.
Friday Night at The Mix
Don’t miss Friday Night Live! at The Mix. It will be an epic night of music, dancing and fun starting at 9pm on Friday at 555 Talbot Ave. Come and enjoy classic R&B, delicious food and refreshing drinks all night long.
Marathon Fan Fest
The true sign that spring is here – Boston Marathon weekend has returned! If you’re gearing up for Patriot’s Day on Monday, get your celebrations started early at the official BAA Fan Fest in Copley Square. Soak in the race-week atmosphere and enjoy appearances by Boston Marathon champions, live music, activities, a final race clinic and more! Fan Fest will be open Friday from 3pm to 8pm, and from 9am to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Candle Making Workshop
Head over to The Local Hand for a fun and interactive candle-making workshop this Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. Instructor Thaisha will provide step-by-step instruction and help you pour your own individual candles with an all-natural scent. No experience is necessary, and all materials are included in the $55 workshop fee.
Mass Hole Marathon at Dorchester Brewing
No man can eat 26.2 donut holes. Well, these contestants think they can. Come witness Boston Marathon history on Saturday from 12pm to 2pm at Dorchester Brewing when 10 authentic Massholes attempt a 26.2 Mass Hole donut hole eating contest.
