From BPD News:

At about 1:47 PM, on October 27, 2020, officers assigned to the Citywide 2 Drug Control Unit, along with the FBI Gang Task Force, arrested James Thomas, 43, of Dorchester.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, it was revealed that Mr. Thomas had two outstanding drug warrants. Officers located Thomas in the area of Maywood Street and Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester.

As officers approached Thomas, informing him that he was being placed under arrest for outstanding warrants, he began backing up and refused to put his hands behind his back.

After safely being arrested, handcuffed and searched, officers recovered a firearm from the waist area of Thomas, as well as two plastic baggies containing ten individually wrapped pieces of a white rock like substance believed to be crack cocaine. The Smith and Wesson .45 caliber MP firearm was loaded with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine.

Suspect Thomas was charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, Drugs (crack cocaine). Mr. Thomas is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury Court.
