UPDATE: The Market Floral Studio Blooms Bandit Has Come Forward.

Update:

Big news in the flower theft story.  The Market Floral Studio Blooms Bandit has come forward to rectify the situation.  After finding our post on social media, Pedro reached out to Allen at the flower shop to explain the “confusion,” saying he thought his assistant had ordered the flowers in advance and paid for the large custom bouquet.  He paid for the flowers, and Allen is graciously donating the $250 to the Dorchester Girls Softball Travel Team.  Wouldn’t it be nice if Pedro matched the donation?

Original Post:

Jen Allen, owner of Market Floral Studio, spends her days creating gorgeous floral arrangements for customers, big and small.  Each arrangement she makes is made with technique, creativity, and a little bit of love. So after she created a $250 custom bouquet of gorgeous hydrangeas, peonies, and garden roses wrapped in special paper and ribbon, she set it aside for the customer to pick up. “It was my best flowers I had in stock for a bride-to-be,” said Allen.

A man named Mike had placed the order for his fiancée’s bridal shower.  He said he would be there at 12 pm to pick it up.  Allen then sent him a link to pay for the flowers via email.

Enter the Blooms Bandit. A man in his late twenties or early thirties entered her Dorchester studio around 11:50 am. Allen assumed this was the customer and asked, “Mike?” The man nodded yes.

Allen handed over the flowers, to which he responded Looks great! Allen then asked where the bridal shower was, and he responded with, “across the city.” She asked if he paid through the link she sent him, and he said yes, thanked Allen, and left.

Five minutes later, the real customer, Mike, texted to say he was running a little late and would be there in 10 minutes.  Allen texted back, “didn’t you just pick up?” He responded, ” Nope. ”  “That’s odd. Some guy just picked up your flowers and left,” she texted back.

“I immediately looked at camera footage from the building next door and saw the guy leaving in a Porsche with the stolen flowers,” Allen said.

Allen then took to social media to find out who this guy is.  And she found out he lives in a high-rise downtown, owns his own media company, is from Upstate New York and his name is Pedro.  She then wrote him an email and tagged him on Instagram, hoping he would respond, but he did not.

So now Allen is out $250, not to mention the time, effort, and creativity she put into the arrangement.

“I don’t really care about the money, it’s more about the principle of it,” added Allen.

She is hoping he will come forward and rectify the “situation,” but so far the bandit has not responded.

As for the bride-to-be order, she did make a new bouquet for Mike, but sadly, all her best flowers and special wrapping were left with the Bloom Bandit.

If you know who this person is, maybe encourage him to do the right thing. And if you’d like to treat yourself or someone special to flowers, order some from Market Floral Studio!

The main image is not the actual bride-to-be bouquet but just an example of the beautiful flowers Allen creates.
