Students and faculty of UMass Boston are planning to hold a “parking strike” on Wednesday thanks to parking rates increasing from $6 to $15 a day. They are encouraging motorists not to park in the lots out of protest.
The strike will be focused on the $15 rates at West Garage, Lot D, and the Campus Center Garage. The picket will take place outside of West Garage beginning at 7 a.m. and continue to 5 p.m.
