First stop – Bowdoin St. + Geneva Ave.:

At about 12:34 AM, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester), conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Bowdoin Street and Geneva Avenue in Dorchester, which led to the firearm arrest of Gequann Perry, 32, of Roxbury.

Officers conducted a CJIS inquiry of the motor which revealed that the registration was revoked. Officers safely stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, later identified as Gequann Perry. After further investigation, officers recovered a loaded firearm from the motor vehicle

The firearm was determined to be a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard, loaded with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine.

Perry was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Operating after Revocation and Suspension.  He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Second stop 126 Bird Street:

At about 1:08 AM, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), made an on-site arrest of Joel Winslow, 34, of Dorchester on firearm-related charges in the area of 126 Bird Street, Dorchester.

While on patrol, officers were alerted to a shot-spotter activation at 5 Hartford Street and observed a motor vehicle circling the area. Officers activated their lights and sirens to safely stop the motor vehicle. Officers made contact with the occupants of the motor vehicle and after further investigation, recovered a loaded firearm from the passenger, later identified as Joel Winslow.

The firearm was determined to be a Smith & Wesson M&P40, loaded with one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.

Joel Winslow was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Receiving Stolen Property and Firearm, Discharged within 500 ft of a Building.  He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
