At about 2:00 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a report of an armed robbery in the area of 137 Dorchester Street in South Boston.
Upon arrival, officers received information from the 911 operator that the suspect(s) robbed a victim at knife point taking his wallet and cell phone. The suspects, later identified as a 17-year-old male of Dorchester and a 17-year-old male of Mattapan, fled the scene on a red scooter.
Moments later, another 911 call was received regarding two black males who just robbed about three victims at knife point in the area of JFK MBTA station and fled the area on a red moped towards Columbia Road and Massachusetts Avenue.
Members of the Boston Police Youth Violence Strike Force observed the two males on a red moped, which matched the description, and attempted to stop them. The suspect(s) crashed into a median and fled on the scene on foot in the area of the South Bay Mall.
Suspect #1, was apprehended in the Mall parking lot. Officers recovered the victims’ cell phones and wallet from the suspect.
Suspect #2 fled on foot across Interstate 93. Several officers, with the help of K-9 units, ultimately located the second suspect hiding under an overpass.
Both 17-year-old juveniles were charged with Delinquent to Wit: Armed Robbery and are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
