On Thursday night/Friday morning, there was not one but two fires in the neighborhood.  Around 8:15pm, BFD responded to a call for a fire at 12 Stonehurst Street. Heavy fire was showing. A 3rd alarm was called.  It took about an hour to knock down the fire.  It’s estimated at $500,000 in damages to the 2 1/2 story home. Four adults and two children were displaced. Two firefighters were taken to an area hospital with injuries.

Around 4am on Friday morning, BFD responded to another call for a fire – this time to a 3-family at 77 Romsey Street.  A 3rd alarm was called.  $500,000 in damage is estimated.  Evidently it was hoarding situation in this home. A 60-year-old woman was safely evacuated.
