One Less Gun: At about 2:15 AM on Sunday, November 29, 2020, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite arrest and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of Columbia Road and Brinsley Street in Dorchester. While on patrol, officers observed a black BMW traveling on Columbia Road with excessive tints and the license plate not illuminated. Officers initiated a traffic stop and as they approached the vehicle, they observed three occupants. Officers’ attention was drawn to the front seat passenger and the rear passenger, both of whom were exceptionally nervous and breathing heavily. All three occupants were subsequently removed from the vehicle. Inside of the vehicle, officers took note of several hollow spots including one underneath the steering wheel which yielded the recovery of five grams of a substance believed to be heroin and eight grams of a substance believed to be crack cocaine. As officers secured the drugs, they observed a Taurus G2C 9mm firearm loaded with sixteen rounds of live ammunition in the same spot. The operator was taken into custody. The two passengers were identified and released from the scene.

 
Officers arrested Frank Roberto, 32-years-old, of Dorchester. Roberto is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Fourth Offense, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition Subsequent Offense, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drugs, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
