BPD NEWS:
About 12:05am on Sunday, October 25, 2020, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a carjacking by firearm at 30 Browning Avenue, Dorchester. Officers were provided with a description of (3) black males, who showed firearms and fled in the victim’s blue motor vehicle.
While canvassing the area, an officer observed a blue motor vehicle, traveling down Harvard Street towards Greenwood Street, operating with no headlights. The officer activated his lights and sirens and was able to stop the motor vehicle at 140 Greenwood Street. The officer observed that the vehicle was occupied by (3) individuals, and that all three individuals were making extreme overt movements that appeared panicked in nature, resulting in one of the occupants looking back at the officer and then lunging toward the floor.
The three individuals were removed from the motor vehicle, and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a black Taurus PT 111 G2 9mm firearm, with (7) live rounds in the magazine and (1) live round in the chamber. A further inquiry of the firearm verified that it was stolen.
Following a positive identification, the flowing individuals were placed under arrest:
Tristin Howard, 18 years old of Brockton, was arrested and charged with Carjacking, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without License, Unlawful Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Device, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Firearm, Receiving Stolen -$1200. Howard also issued MA Uniform Citation for Operating Motor Vehicle without a License. Howard to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
A 17-year-old juvenile of Boston was arrested and charged with Carjacking. Suspect expected to arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.
A 14-year-old juvenile of Dedham was arrested and charged with Carjacking. Suspect expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.
During the time of the above incident, (2) victims self-applied to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victims reported being involved in an incident that took place at 30 Browning Avenue, Dorchester. This incident is currently being investigated by District Detectives.
