Caught in the South End
If you’ve walked around Shawmut Ave in the South End, you’ve probably notice the iconic sign “Sahara Syrian Restaurant” that looks like it could have been used as a location in Goodfella’s. The restaurant has been closed for almost fifty years and the building unused. This mysterious place has made us ponder questions over the years. “Who owns the building?” “Why did it close?” “Will someone every reopen or sell the building?”
Well, The Passionate Foodie has uncovered the the mystery and gives us a little history lesson on not only the family that owns the building but on Armenian immigrants in Boston.
You can read about it here. It’s a really great piece!

Great story by the Passionate Foodie. And for the most part very accurate. I know because Sam Khoury was my father. Brought back great memories, thank you,
