Right before our eyes, the South Bay Mall is begging to grow, expand and change! Ulta Beauty Loft Outlet and Nike are officially open! A 60,000 square foot luxury cinema complete with oversized reclining seats and a bar (No more sneaking nips in for us!) opens on Monday. There will also be a Converse, JP Licks, Gyu-kaku, Forever 21, Starbucks and a Chipotle. Don’t worry about parking. 600 spaces of free parking will make up the six-story garage. There’s even a beautifully painted mural the reads “Made in Dorchester.” According to the South Bay Mall Instagram account, the mural “is reflection of our mission to enrich community by partnering with local artisans who embody the culture & soul of Dorchester. EDENS engaged resident blacksmiths, mural artists, carpenters, & metal workers to create unique custom works throughout South Bay.”
The 720,000 square foot mixed-use development project also includes approximately 475 residential units, and a 130-room hotel. There will be a total of five new buildings. There will be three parking garages total along with a surface lot and street parking for a total of approximately 1,095 parking spaces.
So there you go!
