“Some Good News”

During this time of COVID-19, it’s nice to get some good news.   A few Beth Israel workers got a nice surprise on Sunday evening from from actor (and Newton native) John Krasinski and Big Papi.

The duo announced the news during and episode of Krasinski’s “Some Good News” YouTube show on Sunday evening that staffers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center would be getting four free Red Sox tickets for life!  Sweet!

On the show, Krasinski thanked staff from Beth Israel’s COVID-19 unit and Big Papi announced the free tickets!  The hospital employees were then surprised with a “sanitized Duck Boat tour” bringing them to Fenway Park where they watched a  a video featuring Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and Red Sox team members thanking them for their hard work. The Beth Israel workers will also throw out a ceremonial baseball pitch and even run the bases!

On a personal note, my daughter Grace works in this unit and here’s hoping I get invited to a game or two!
