Quiet, Please: Dorchester’s First “Quiet Book Club” Launches at Sugar Bowl Café on April 28th

Dorchester, MA — A new kind of book club is coming to Dorchester—for people who love books and reading – but also love a little bit of quiet.

The Dorchester Quiet Book Club will host its first-ever gathering on Tuesday, April 28th at 6:30 PM at Sugarbowl Café in the Polish Triangle (857 Dorchester Ave).

Unlike traditional book clubs, there is no rush to finish the selected book, no assignments, no discussion guides, Instead, folks just bring whatever they’re currently reading (or have been meaning to start), settle in, and enjoy a shared reading session alongside others.

Event details:

  • Date: Tuesday, April 28th
  • Time: 6:30 PM
  • Location: Sugar Bowl Café, 857 Dorchester Ave (Polish Triangle)

The format is simple: about 45 minutes of quiet reading, followed by optional time to chat, connect, or talk about what everyone was reading—if you feel like it. All formats are welcome – physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, textbooks, etc.

Interested folks can to go https://bit.ly/dotquietbookclub to sign up and be added to the mailing list!

Hello Maureen, long-time ex-Dot Rat Tom here. I have a 3 time award-winning humorous book out. (Up & Down with JoJo Brown) and was wondering if you would be interested in checking it out, if I got it to you. If yes, and you loved it, I thought you may want to interview me or put in on Caught in Southie?Just some content right? Many thanks for your consideration. Tom
