Stabbing early Saturday morning
At about 12:38am, on Saturday, July 6, 2019, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) were on patrol when they observed a commotion in the parking lot of the Alltown Gas Station in the area of 85 Southampton Street in Dorchester. After pulling into the parking lot, officers were able to locate and speak to the victim who promptly pointed out the suspect who was attempting to flee the scene in a motor vehicle. After activating their lights and sirens, officers were able to stop the suspect. While questioning the suspect about his role in the incident, officers observed what appeared to be blood evidence on the passenger side door of the suspect’s vehicle. After instructing the suspect to exit the vehicle, officers observed and confiscated a knife seen lying on the front seat of the vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening stab wound. The suspect, Carree Burns, 43, of Haverhill, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife). The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Monday, July 8, 2019.
