UPDATE FROM BPD:

Investigation Update: At about 11:50 AM on Friday May 28, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 590 Park Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene and has since been identified as Ivanildo Barros, 37, of Dorchester.

On Saturday May 29, 2021, members of the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force located Nickoyan Wallace, 46, of Dorchester, following an investigation conducted by the Boston Police Homicide Unit. The suspect was later arrested and charged with Murder. The suspect will face arraignment in Dorchester District Court. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.

The Boston Police Department continues to review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and is asking anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.

According to live footage on the Citizens app, and a tweet from Stacos on Twitter, it’s an active crime scene near the 500 block of Park near Spencer.  Nine shots were fired shortly before 12pm on Friday.  A person was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. BPD are on foot in the area looking for gunman.
