Popular Floral Exhibition Returns to Tropical Forest for Second Year
Do you need a gorgeous tropical escape from the chilly Boston winter? Franklin Park Zoo’s Orchid Adventure experience is returning to the Tropical Forest Pavilion this February, showcasing orchids native to multiple regions from around the world. This immersive experience invites visitors to explore the stunning beauty of orchids amidst the wild wonders of the zoo.
Franklin Park Zoo’s indoor Tropical Forest building will become a botanical wonderland, featuring hundreds of orchids, alongside animals that share the same habitat. From rare species to exotic hybrids, Orchid Adventure promises a radiant experience that brings the intricate beauty of orchids and the intrigue of the animal kingdom together.
Orchids from Central America will be featured amongst cotton-top tamarin, giant anteater and green anaconda. Select plants from West Africa and Madagascar will highlight conservation stories where habitats overlap with western lowland gorillas, pygmy hippos, and ring-tailed lemurs. New this year, orchids native to Tropical Asia will also be featured. Orchid Adventure will also highlight conservation stories for the species that share habitats with these stunning flowers.
Orchid Adventure is a remarkable display of the beauty of the natural world, educating our guests on the importance of preserving biodiversity. Guests who are interested in purchasing an orchid from the show can come to the orchid sale on Sunday, March 16.
