One Less Gun: At about 9:46 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, officers made an onsite arrest and recovered a firearm in the area of Blue Hill Ave and Harvard Street in Dorchester. Officers received information that a motor vehicle operating in the area of the aforementioned location, contained a firearm. Officers conducted a traffic stop and approached the vehicle. Officers issued multiple verbal commands for the occupants to exit the vehicle, and while initially reluctant, the female operator, male front passenger, and male rear passenger, eventually exited the vehicle. As the parties were exiting the vehicle, officers observed a brown paper bag resting on top of the front passenger’s feet. Upon the occupants exit, officers retrieved the brown paper bag where they recovered a black Smith & Wesson SD9 9mm firearm. Additionally, officers located three bags of a substance believed to be marijuana in a bag on the floorboard of the vehicle. The front passenger was taken into custody. The operator and rear passenger were identified and released from the scene.

Officers arrested Darien Everett, 38-years-old of Roxbury. Everett is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs.
