Investigation Update: At about 9:21AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021, Boston Officers were alerted that a person was stabbed in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Columbia Road. On arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a stab wound. The victim, later identified as Javare Sommerville, 17, of Providence, Rhode Island, he was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives assigned to the Boston Police Homicide Unit have been granted a Murder warrant out of Dorchester District Court for Omara Shears. Shears is described as a 44-year-old black male from Boston. Omara Shears should be considered armed and dangerous and if observed, contact 911 immediately.
