Mayor Michelle Wu will announce the new commissioner of the Boston Police Department on Wednesday at 11am at police headquarters.
Earlier this month, a new BFD Commissioner and new BPS Superintendent were announced.
The news of a new police commissioner comes after the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association released a harshly worded letter about officers being “forced” to work 24 hours due to large events on Saturday. You can read more about this here.
