culturally curated, radically influenced, and locally inspired
A new bookstore, The Book Shop, is coming to the Fields Corner neighborhood! It will be located on the ground floor of a new apartment building being developed at 1463 Dorchester Ave called Dot Crossing Apartments.
According to the Boston Globe, the founders Porsha Olayiwola, poet laureate of Boston, and Bing Broderick envision a shop that is “culturally curated, radically influenced, and locally inspired.” The 1,300-square-foot space will feature a collection of adult and children’s literature with some selections from local writers plus a lineup of special programming including book clubs, teen nights, kids’ story hours, and more! There are also plans to have a bar selling coffee, beer, wine, and smoothies.
The Book Shop hopes to be open by the fall of 2023.
