Neglected Dog Found in Dorchester Now on the Road to Recovery

A sad situation in Dot—but with a hopeful turn.

According to NBC10 Boston, a Cane Corso mix was found in Dorchester in rough shape and taken in by Boston Animal Control.

The dog, now named Balboa, was extremely underweight and suffering from hypothermia when he arrived at MSPCA-Angell. He’s now stable and getting the care he needs, including a slow refeeding plan to help him regain strength.

Before he’s ready for adoption, Balboa will spend time in foster care as he continues to recover.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the dog to reach out to MSPCA-Angell by phone at 617-522-6008 or 800-628-5808, or online at mspca.org/tip.

Those interested in donating toward his care can do so at mspca.org/balboa
