Art too bad to be ignored.
Odd portraits, weird animals and strange sport scenarios are just some of the subjects that make up the questionable art in the Museum of Bad Art. After losing its home in the basement of the Somerville Theatre a while back, the collection has found a new home and it’s right here in Dorchester!
Dorchester Brewing Co. will now house a curated selection of 40 pieces of bad art from the museum’s collection of 800 pieces!
“The pieces in the MOBA collection range from the work of talented artists that have gone awry to works of exuberant, although crude, execution by artists barely in control of the brush. What they all have in common is a special quality that sets them apart in one way or another from the merely incompetent.” – from the MOBA website.
Plus each piece of bad art has witty commentary to read to enhance the visuals.
A grand opening celebration is planned for September 6 from 6-8 p.m at Dorchester Brewing Co., where lovers of beer and bad art can take it all in. So save the date!
