BOSTON, Mass. – November 21, 2023 – Boston Harbor Now has announced that Merry Moakley, an annual family-friendly holiday celebration providing families with an afternoon of festive fun, will return to South Boston on December 7th.
Merry Moakley started in 2021 after Boston Harbor Now heard from community partners that there was a need for more outdoor after-school programming in the winter. With the help of a coalition of community partners, including the South Boston Neighborhood, Boston Harbor Now helped create Merry Moakley to provide an inclusive and safe space for children, youth, and their families to enjoy the outdoors during the holiday season while enjoying free festive activities and eating dinner.
Families with children of all ages are invited to join Merry Moakley for an afternoon of pizza, music by DJ Why Sham, hot cocoa, crafts, free books, a photo booth, games, and more. This event will take place at The South Boston Neighborhood House Preschool Parking Lot.
Boston Harbor Now is a proud cohost of this event, which is made possible by the City of Boston Parks and Recreation, South Boston Neighborhood House, South Boston en Accion, Boston Family Engagement Network, and Volo.
