Bummer

In the hopes to save $142 million by summer of 2022, the MBTA is proposing some service cuts including no weekend service on the commuter rail in addition to it stop running at 9pm.  Ferry service will also go away, some bus routes will be eliminated and trains won’t run as frequently. Gheesh. 

According to the Boston Globe, ridership is down due the pandemic Commuter rail and ferry ridership is down nearly 90 percent, subway fares are down about 25 percent and buses are down about 40 percent.
