From Mayor Janey Below:
I am honored to serve you as the 55th Mayor of Boston.
This is the City I love. This is the City where I have been a student and a parent, an organizer and an advocate, a City Councilor and the City Council President. I am proud to continue my work with you, as your Mayor.
In the days ahead, partnering together, we will focus on recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, safely reopening our City and renewing our communities. And, as we reopen, we will take the steps to become a more equitable, more joyful, more resilient Boston.
This transition comes at a moment of strength. This is due to the hard work of our local government, the leadership of Mayor Walsh, and every single one of you. I want to congratulate Mayor Walsh on being confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the next U.S. Secretary of Labor, and for his many years of service to the people of Boston.
I look forward to our work together, in every neighborhood of our City. I invite you to join me tomorrow at the official swearing-in ceremony, which will be streamed live on Boston.gov at 11:45 a.m.
Thank you for making Boston your home.
Sincerely,
Kim Janey
Mayor of Boston
