Do to the impending nor’easter, the MBTA will be replacing trolley service with shuttle buses beginning Wednesday at 10am. Consider yourself warned. See press release below:
BOSTON – Because of the expected winter weather, the MBTA will be replacing Mattapan trolley service with shuttle buses effective 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21st. Shuttle buses are expected to replace trolley service for the duration of the storm.
Replacement shuttle service is being implemented proactively to protect the 70-year-old trolley cars from weather-related damage.
Customers are encouraged to use caution on slippery platforms and bus stops and to stay safe in cold air temperatures. As delays and other service changes may occur, customers are urged to connect with the MBTA by visiting the MBTA website’s Winter Weather page, signing up for and checking T-Alerts, downloading the Transit app, and following the T on Twitter @MBTA as well as the Commuter Rail at @MBTA_CR.
