A dispute outside a Dorchester Burger King took a violent turn on Saturday when a 32-year-old man was shot during a confrontation with a security guard, according to Boston Police.
The wounded man took off from the scene but was later found by police and transported to Boston Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, said BPD spokesperson Officer Mark Marron.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Burger King at 100 Washington Street around 9:22 p.m. When they arrived, they found the 30-year-old security guard with injuries to his head, eye, and mouth.
The security guard, who works for a private firm, told officers that the man had been staring at him, made threats to take his firearm, and refused to leave the restaurant. The situation escalated into a verbal argument before turning physical outside, ultimately leading to the shooting.
Police are still investigating the incident.
