About 4:13pm on Sunday, January 10, 2021, a Sergeant Detective assigned to the District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Unit made an on-site firearm arrest of Shaudi Griffin, 23 years old from Roxbury.

While traveling on Bowdoin Street, the Sergeant Detective heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the area of Draper Street and Bowdoin Street. The Sergeant then observed a male running from Draper Street into a parking lot near 260 Bowdoin Street, and then exiting the parking lot while operating a motor vehicle. The Sergeant notified the dispatcher of his observations, which was followed by a call for shots fired and a ShotSpotter Activation in the area of 273 Bowdoin Street.

The Sergeant continued behind the suspects motor vehicle, updating their location for responding marked units. The vehicle was stopped on Ceylon Street and the operator, identified as Shaudi Griffin, was removed. Griffin was identified as the same individual seen running from the area of the shots fired.  Further investigation into the motor vehicle revealed a Glock 42 .380 firearm in the center console.  Officers also recovered approximately 29 plastic bags of marijuana, two scales and $100.00 in United States Currency.

Shaudi Griffin was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Firearm Discharged within 500ft of a Dwelling and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. Griffin is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
