On Tuesday, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester announced the passing of Bruce Seals from cancer.
Seals was the athletic director at the Daniel Marr Boys and Girls Club in Dorchester for three decades – mentoring thousands of youths from the neighborhood.
According to the Boston Globe, Seals played pro basketball between the ABA and NBA for five years. In addition to being the athletic director for the Boys and Girls Club, he was the assistant coach with the Emerson College men’s basketball team for 17 years plus seven years at Emmanuel College in the same position.
He was 67 years old.
