From BPD News:
At about 2:46 PM on Monday March 27, 2023, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) were dispatched to recover a firearm at Walker Playground located at 515 Norfolk Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located and recovered a loaded 9mm Taurus GC3 handgun along with an additional loaded magazine.
Both have been turned over to the BPD Firearms Analysis Unit for processing. This investigation remains active and ongoing.
This recovery was made possible as a direct result of a concerned individual who contacted us after observing the unattended firearm possibly averting an accident or an act of violence within the community.
