Karaoke Night at Ghost Pepper Draws Large Crowd and Police Response
A busy karaoke night at Ghost Pepper Taqueria in Savin Hill ended with police called in to disperse a large crowd.
According to Universal Hub, the April 16 karaoke night also included two large birthday parties, and by the time the restaurant closed, roughly 100 people had gathered outside along Savin Hill Avenue. Police responding around 12:50am reported several groups making noise, kicking things, and nearly getting into fights. Additional officers were eventually called in to help clear the area.
The incident resulted in Ghost Pepper receiving a citation for failure to disperse patrons. Co-owner Driscoll DoCanto told the Boston Licensing Board that the incident was a one-time occurrence and that there have been no similar problems since. Karaoke now ends at 11pm instead of midnight.
The Licensing Board is expected to decide Thursday whether any further action is necessary.
