Since 2014, it’s been a goal for a section of Fields Corner in Dorchester to be known as Boston Little Saigon. Well, according to the Boston Globe, there was a unanimous vote on Tuesday by the Mass Cultural Council to approve the designation for the area known for its vibrant Vietnamese community.
According to the very impressive Boston Little Saigon website, the mission of the Boston Little Cultural District is to “highlight, recognize, and preserve Vietnamese American culture already present in the area and the community’s significant contributions to Dorchester’s unique history of immigrant experiences.”
Additionally, they “strive to help local arts and humanities improve the quality and range of their public programs so that more local families can benefit from them.”
